A level switch is a sensor that can detect the presence of liquid, powder or granular materials at a given point. It is usually used to prevent overflows and is placed at the top of the tank. When the liquid comes into contact with the level switch, it sends a signal to prevent overflow. Similarly, the level switch is activated when the liquid level drops so that the tank is not completely empty.
NIVELCO's NIVOCONT series of vibrating rod level switches are the ideal solution for precisely measuring the level of granular and powdered materials. Effective for low and high level measurements for materials with a minimum density of 0.05 kg/dm3, these robust devices control the filling and discharging processes and give a safety alarm when necessary.
The working principle of NIVOCONT is simple. The electronic circuit uses the vibration of the rod probe. When the medium reaches the rod and closes the rod, the vibration stops; when the medium leaves the rod, the rod vibrates again. The electronic module detects this vibration change and outputs the output signal after a specified delay.
