Water networks are evolving, connecting an increasing number of devices. At the same time, operators' daily work is changing, and the challenges they face are growing. In the realm of remote management, these challenges extend beyond the installation and maintenance of RTUs. Operators must also periodically update the versions in their S4 network and renew their certificates to meet cybersecurity requirements.
To simplify these new tasks for operators, LACROIX has developed a new centralized IIoT platform that automates certificate renewal and the distribution of software versions for SOFREL S4.
The new centralized platform, LX CONNECT, enhances the S4 product and software offering with key features:
Cybersecurity Automation: Automated renewal of S4 certificates and optimizing the ecosystem's cybersecurity processes Advanced Remote Management: Comprehensive mastery of a remote management network, providing access to dashboards displaying communication performance and distributed versions across sites
Automatic renewal of SOFREL S4 remote management certificates: During installation, each S4 product or application within the S4 ecosystem must obtain a certificate generated from a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) provided by Microsoft. This certificate serves as a secure digital passport for the product or application on the network, with a validity period set between 2 to 3 years (in line with ANSSI recommendations).
The LX CONNECT platform monitors the validity period of certificates on a daily basis and renews them from the Microsoft PKI before they expire. LX CONNECT then connects to the S4 products and applications to ensure they have successfully integrated the new certificates. This certificate management constraint becomes transparent for the administrator.
Dashboards are available to verify that the platform effectively fulfills its role in renewing certificates. Additionally, comprehensive renewal campaigns can be scheduled from the platform.
Simplified Management of a SOFREL Telemetry Park: The dashboards provided by the LX CONNECT platform offer administrators a clear view of deployed versions, S4 operational status, and communication performance. A campaign module allows centralized planning of large-scale updates to S4 software and corrective versions.
