NIVELCO NIVOCAP CK-100 series new generation capacitance level switch (level switch) operates as a capacitance meter in the RF (radio-frequency) range, unlike the traditional capacitive principle.
What is the most advantageous feature of this technique? The instrument has a great build-up immunity and therefore the NIVOCAP CK-100 is suitable for sticking, sticky substances (wax, linseed oil, gum arabic, gum tragacanth, methyl cellulose, gums, egg whites, etc.) The mechanical structure consists of a stainless steel probe and a reference probe between the two insulations.
NIVOCAP CK’s intelligent microcontroller-based electronics continuously evaluates the voltage level and is proportional to the capacitance difference between the two probes and the housing. In this way, it provides more stable measurement compared to analog capacitance switches. The units are only available with a paint-coated aluminum body because the reference point of the measurement is the body itself.
An insulated section of the probe, called the guard ring, prevents mis-switching, allowing material buildup on the probe to be ignored.
The maximum probe length of the NIVOCAP CK level relay series is 3 meters (10 feet)” on rod extended types. However, cable extension versions can be ordered up to 10 meters (33 feet) probe length. High temperature and Dust-Ex(ATEX) approved models such as NIVOCAP CK – CKM-103-1 are suitable for use in harsh environments, so they can be the ideal choice for power generation applications.
